Color Fix For Age Of Empires 2 in Windows 7

This patch will fix the color issues of AOE2 in Windows 7.Please disable your firewall or always run this fix as administrator. Coded by Codingdevil(codingdevil@facebook.com)

Instructions

Extract the files to your AOE Installation path like (c:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\AOE2 or some thing like that) and run aoe_fix.bat file.

Options

• Temporary fix

  Option 1 and 2 in the menu , ie 'Run Age of Empires : The Conquerors expansion pack' and 'Run Age of Empires : Age of Kings' will run the corresponding game without applying any permanent fix .

• Permanent fix

  Option 3 is a permanent fix for this issue.After enabling it try playing the game. If it doesn't work then start the aoe_fix.bat again and use the Temporary fix [Option 1 or 2].

Possible issues

Just in case the fix leaves you with a blank screen with no start bar do the following

1. Start Taskmanager by pressing alt+ctrl+del .
2. In File menu select New Task(Run) and enter explorer.exe in the new window and hit enter
